25 days of 8 full working days. That’s more than a month.
Could I have made the next $200,000 product?
Could I have changed the world for the better, for the little better.
The itch to kill, headshot, the ZiNG you hear when you lead the team. The badges. The stupid nicks you see, the satisfaction you get when you kill them. When you knife them, when they’re oblivious to their environment.
The exciting last stage, when you knife another guy’s trying to knife you. The satisfaction you get when you come out top. Winning is addictive. But it’s fleeting – just like time. Nobody remembers you other than the 15 minutes of game. Nobody cares who you are. Everybody is in for a good time.

Here’s what I learnt from CS:GO :

• Map knowledge : of course this is important. You dont want to wander into line of sight or bullet path. Most good players know where NOT to stand or wait.
• Unpredictability : Key in winning, and when you’re tired, it’s difficult jolt your brain to do something out of the standard. The routine is so easy to do. It’s 2nd nature. It’s subconscious. You see so many noobs just running around, standing on no man’s land, waiting to be shot.
• Pattern : Everybody has a tell in their moves. In 5 minutes, you can already tell where most players are. They keep respawning and keep returning to where they were.
• Patience : Lousy players dont have this. They chiong and chiong without thinking.
• Peripheral vision : When you’re running towards a point, always look out for movement on your screen. I mean 27″ : that’s what it’s for.
• Discipline : It requires discipline. When you have AWP, you don’t want to rush forward. When you HEAR an AWP, you also don’t want to rush forward.
• Reload timing : always reload somewhere safe. And i mean really safe. where no one can suddenly pop out to shoot your ass.
• Weapons level : How you play depend on what levels are you at, and most importantly, what level your opponents are at.
• Move, move, move : never stop moving.
• Audio : always listen for footsteps. If there’s hurried footsteps, means somebody is about to stab you. or it could just be an idiot teammate following you.
• Radar : go where no team mates are at, expect opponents, and grab the kills.
• Herd mentality : Expect more than 1 opponent at any given location. They love to follow each other.
• Spray or not to spray : Spray when they’re 10 feet away from you. If not, tap tap.
• Priorities : When you’re in a gun fight with 2 persons, in the split second, know what guns are they using, and leave if you know you can’t win ( snipers ). If you think you can win, go for the one nearer to you – cos it’s easier for him to kill u.
• Outliers : there are always idiots hiding in the roof top, or in the toilets, or in the water with just the top half of the head visible(lake). If you’re on shot guns, RUN AWAY. No point going into battles you know you will lose. Let others go for it, or go for them when you have a more appropriate gun.
• Crouch / no crouch : sometimes, you don’t need to crouch. Crouching just makes it easier for opponent to headshot you.
• Spawn location : Always check your surroundings before moving off. Some are just waiting to kill you the moment you spawn.
• Predict paths : If you caught a glance of opponent strafing past your vision, you can meet him at where you think he’s going. The Map is so small. you can guess the paths most of the time.
• Your path : Sometimes, I always like to cheat them by letting them see me going direction A, but i stop dead and turn towards direction B.
• Leverage on team mates : If someone else wants to die first, let them. There’s no shame in revenge after your dead team mate, after.
• Knife at close range : Co-ordinate the front direction with right click, to get an effective one knife kill ( from the back / sometimes if he is also going toward you, you can knife him straight on )
• Camping : Camping kills.

It’s such a mindless game. And yet it’s so addictive.

Sigh.
I want to quit this fucking game.
